About Us
Our Story
Semibreve began in 2013 with a vision to present live music in innovative and exciting new ways. Classical Revolution brought classical music to your doorstep in pubs, bars, and cafes. Semibreve Supper Club put music on the menu, while Semibreve Yoga treated yogis to a lying-down concert, incorporating movement and breathwork to live music. We also offered a range of storytelling and live music for audiences young and old, such as "Beer, Burgers, and Beethoven," which explored history through music, and "Through the Looping Glass," a solo violin and loop station show. Our takeovers included live music lunches at Cookhouse, an International Women's Day supper club at The Feathers Inn, and "Nature's Prelude" for the Newcastle & Gateshead Eat! Festival.
In 2023, Semibreve became a Community Interest Company with a board of directors dedicated to furthering our vision. With recent Arts Council funding, we have been able to deliver a year of activities to help shape what Semibreve can offer its musicians and audiences.
