Who We Support
At Semibreve CIC, our work centres on supporting individuals and communities who are often underserved or underrepresented in the music world. Our beneficiaries come from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences, and we are committed to creating opportunities that are meaningful, accessible, and empowering.
Our core beneficiaries include:
-
Neurodivergent Musicians
We create safe, flexible environments for neurodivergent artists to learn, create, and perform, with sensitivity to sensory needs, communication styles, and varied learning approaches. -
Underrepresented Artists
This includes women, non-binary musicians, people of colour, and others who have historically had limited visibility and opportunity in the music industry. We champion their voices through performance, commissions, and community projects. -
Young Musicians
We support children and young people through mentorship, workshops, and access to instruments and high-quality tuition—especially those who might not otherwise be able to afford or access it. -
Adults Returning to Music
Whether reconnecting with music after a break or exploring it for the first time later in life, we welcome adult learners and provide supportive, non-judgmental spaces for creativity and growth. -
Communities Experiencing Social or Geographic Barriers
We bring live music and learning opportunities into schools, village halls, libraries, and community centres—removing barriers to participation and access. -
Disabled and Chronically Ill Artists
Through flexible working models, performance spaces, and project design, we aim to meet the needs of artists living with long-term health conditions or physical disabilities.
How We Work
We co-create many of our projects with the people and communities we serve. This ensures that the music we make together is relevant, representative, and rooted in real experiences.
We believe music is a tool for connection, wellbeing, and change—and that everyone deserves a place in its story.
